Alex Berthrong, DVM

Dr. Alex graduated from UC Davis, California in 2005 and began practicing medicine at First City Veterinary Hospital in 2007, he has since become the lead doctor and medical director. His professional interests include soft tissue surgery and abdominal ultrasound. While not a primary focus, Dr. Alex also enjoys seeing ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and other “pocket pets”. In his spare time, He enjoys spending time with his wife, 4 kids, 4 dogs, 4 pigs, and an uncertain number of chickens.
Angela Turra, DVM

Dr. Turra is a graduate of Oregon State University. She has been with us since 2003 and currently practices part-time. She has a special interest in animal dermatology and especially enjoys building lasting relationships with owners and their pets. When not at work, Dr. Turra enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 busy teenage daughters, 2 dogs (Charlie & Scout), 2 cats (Hunter & Holly) and 4 chickens (Cheetah, Mochi, Machi, and Greg).

Dr. Mauck is currently with us part-time. She too is a graduate of Oregon State University. She has been practicing here at First City Vet since 2004. Dr. Mauck is also a member of the AVMA.

Megan Glasere, DVM

Dr. Glasere graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She also received her masters degree from Tufts University in Animals and Public Policy in 2016. While in the St. Kitts she created a rescue group in which over 100 island cats were rescued and found loving homes. Although she loves caring for all animals, her primary professional interests include cat behavior, feral cat management, and internal medicine. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, and spending time with her friends, family and four cats. She is also canine and feline fear free certified which allows her to give pets a more relaxing and comfortable experience.
Christa Finley, DVM

Dr. Christa graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She grew up in Indiana and has lived in Michigan, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Oregon, but prefers Oregon most of all. Dr. Christa’s clinical interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, pain management, and palliative care. She enjoys working with dog and cat patients and loves tiny Chihuahuas most of all. Her two black and white rescue animals Tina (short for Fontina) and Zola (short for Gorgonzola) exemplify her love of all things related to cows and cheese. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Oregon VMA, and Portland VMA. In her spare time, Dr. Christa loves discovering new unique eateries and exploring the great outdoors with her dogs, husband and son.
Sebastian Palomino, DVM

Dr. Sebastian graduated from Michigan State University in 2023. He was born and raised in the Palm Springs area of Southern California and grew up as an only child where he developed a familial bond with dogs and cats and grew to view them as part of his own family. Dr. Sebastian was originally going the human route of medicine during his college days but made the switch over to animal medicine and the rest was history. He is an avid sports fan and has been playing rugby since undergraduate and continues to play on his spare time to this day. He moved back to the west side of the country following veterinary school to be closer to his loved ones that relocated to the area as well. He lives at home with his two kitties, Louie and Pepper. His professional interests include internal medicine, cardiology, and client education.
